Mortehoe - Woolacombe

Project type: Internal Reconfiguration / Modernisation

The existing property was a detached 4 bedroom house which had been extended and altered previously, providing an awkward and disjointed layout with small, dark rooms.

One the ground floor several of the structural walls within the building were removed enabling an open plan kitchen / dining / family room to be created, providing views over the Bristol Channel from this room. One of the two staircases was removed and the remaining staircase was repositioned to provide access from the new main entrance with an open porch.

On the first floor the layout was designed to include a luxurious master bedroom with en suite and walk in wardrobe, Juliet balconies were provided to two of the bedrooms.

The original house was badly insulated, so it was upgraded to meet the requirements necessary for a new house.

The final result is a fabulous family home with a modern look and low maintenance with high levels of insulation, making it energy efficient.
